Monaco beats Getafe in friendly with injury scare to Uche

Monaco defeated Getafe 1-0 on Thursday at the Luis II in a pre-season friendly that will be remembered for the injury scare involving Christantus Uche. The Nigerian striker was stretchered off after a heavy challenge from Mawissa late in the match, as MARCA reports.

The match's only goal came in the first half from a penalty: Davinchi was brought down in the box and Brunner converted from the spot to his right, with Diego Ferrer managing to get a touch on the ball. Getafe had their chances, with Abline having a one-on-one early on and Ramón Terrats also testing his luck, but precision deserted the Madrid side.

The most concerning moment came at the end: Mawissa's tackle on Uche left the striker unable to continue and briefly left Monaco with ten men. Shortly after, Kiko Femenía also had to withdraw through injury for Getafe. Filipe Luis' team will complete their pre-season preparations next Saturday against Tottenham in London.
