The 24-year-old Bosnian full-back joins the Magpies on a five-year deal to replace Trippier.
Newcastle United have completed the signing of right-back Amar Dedić from Benfica for 30 million pounds (35 million euros), as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The Bosnian international, who turned 24 on his signing day, has penned a five-year contract and will wear number 37.
Dedić arrives at St. James' Park to fill the right-back position left vacant by Kieran Trippier, who departed on a free transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer window. He becomes the Magpies' sixth summer signing.
Jaissle: "I know him very well"
Newcastle's new manager Matthias Jaissle praised the arrival: "It's a player I know very well, someone I worked with from a young age and whose career I have followed. He will give us a lot in attack and defence, which fits perfectly with the style of play we want to implement." The pair previously worked together at Red Bull Salzburg, where they won the Austrian league three years ago.
Jaissle was appointed Newcastle boss following Eddie Howe's departure. Dedić could make his debut this Sunday in Newcastle's opening Premier League match at home against Liverpool.
