📷 L'ÉquipeOM still without signings while top five leagues make moves
Marseille and Athletic are the only Big 5 clubs without a single signing, though the Basque side operates differently.
As of now, Olympique de Marseille has yet to make a single signing this summer window, according to L'Équipe. They have not brought in players through purchase, activated options or loans since the market opened. It's the only case in all of Ligue 1 and one of just two across Europe's top five leagues alongside Athletic Bilbao, though the circumstances differ vastly.
The Basques operate under a unique philosophy: they only recruit players from Basque origins or academies, which naturally limits their activity. Marseille, conversely, is hamstrung by financial constraints. So far, Bruno Genesio's squad has sold Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, released Bilal Nadir and loaned Hamad Traoré to Genoa with an 8 million euro purchase option. They are also preparing departures for Gerónimo Rulli and Facundo Medina.
