Racing thrashes Sporting in final preseason warm-up

Racing made the most of their penultimate preseason friendly to shake off poor form with a 4-1 thrashing of Sporting in El Astillero, according to MARCA.

The Asturian side made a strong start and went ahead in the 2nd minute through Ferreres, capitalising on a Racing offside trap error. But the Cantabrians woke up around the 15-minute mark and completely turned the game around with three quick goals: Pablo Ramón converted a free-kick, Arana netted a penalty and Zabiri capped off the burst with his Racing debut goal (3-1 at half-time).

The second half saw both teams dial down the intensity and take a more conservative approach. The fourth goal came in the 77th minute courtesy of Castellanos, an academy player who has impressed during preseason and could feature for the first team this campaign.
