Man Utd shuts door on Fernandes despite Galatasaray probe

Bruno Fernandes will not be sold under any circumstances, Manchester United insists amid Turkish club's interest in their captain.

Manchester United has made it abundantly clear that Bruno Fernandes is not for sale at any price, despite reports that Galatasaray are readying an offer for the club captain, now 31 years old.

According to Sky Sports, the Reds view the Portuguese star as non-negotiable and central to their future plans. The message is unequivocal: there will be no discussion. It marks a sharp reversal from last summer, when Fernandes himself revealed the club told him he was free to accept a blockbuster offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, who were prepared to table £100m.

A turnabout from summer uncertainty

In December, the midfielder disclosed feeling "hurt" by that communication from United, which effectively opened the door to his departure in 2024. Now, with Fernandes in the final year of his contract and his £57m release clause for foreign clubs expired, United have chosen to lock him down and count on his extension, which they hold an option to activate.

The fog of last summer has lifted: United are clinging to their standout performer, who set a Premier League single-season assists record and was crowned Player of the Year in the competition.
