Eva Olid becomes Manchester United Women's new head coach

Eva Olid has been appointed as Manchester United Women's new head coach after signing a two-year contract until 2028 with the option of an additional year. The Spanish coach replaces Marc Skinner, whose departure was announced last Monday in a surprise move, according to The Guardian.

Olid, 40, arrives as a free agent after five seasons with Hearts, where she guided the Edinburgh club to their first Scottish Women's Premier League title last season. The coach has impressed United with her track record of developing individual players to their full potential.

Manchester United is now focusing on nurturing homegrown and young talent rather than spending significant transfer fees. Olid expressed her excitement: «The opportunity to become head coach of Manchester United Women is a dream come true.
