Everton sign Norgaard from Arsenal on two-year deal

Christian Norgaard has completed his move to Everton from the Arsenal, according to BBC Sport. The 32-year-old Danish midfielder joins on a two-year contract for a reported fee of £7m.

Norgaard, who arrived at Arsenal just a year ago from Brentford in a £15m deal, was nearing the end of his contract with the north London club. During his time at the Gunners, the midfielder made 20 appearances across all competitions last season, though he featured in just seven Premier League matches as Arteta's side claimed their first title in 22 years.

The Denmark international expressed his enthusiasm following the transfer: «I'm very intrigued about the project after speaking with David Moyes. The club is moving in the right direction.» With this signing, Moyes bolsters his midfield following the departures of seasoned veterans Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gueye, while James Garner faces a spell out with a groin injury.
