Everton and Palace complete McNeil-Johnson swap

Everton and Crystal Palace have completed a swap deal involving Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson, according to BBC Sport. The 26-year-old English winger moves to Selhurst Park on a contract until 2030, while the 25-year-old Welsh winger signs with the Toffees until 2029.

The move closes a saga that began in February when McNeil was on the verge of joining Palace on a loan-to-buy agreement worth £20m. The transfer collapsed at the last minute despite passing his medical due to administrative issues, prompting his partner to publicly criticize the club's handling of the situation.

Johnson, who arrived at Palace in January for £35m from Tottenham, struggled at Selhurst Park, making 26 appearances without scoring. Speaking to Everton's media, the Wales international said the move "is a really good match" and expressed his belief the club will do "everything to get back into European competition".

McNeil, signed by the Toffees three years ago from Burnley, has recorded 15 goals and 19 assists in 128 games. Palace praised him as "a player with proven ability in the Premier League".
