Ezequiel Ponce is officially back at Elche. According to MARCA, the Argentine striker has reached an agreement with Houston Dynamo to terminate his MLS contract and rejoin the franjiverde. The Rosario native signs until June 2027, with the option to extend for two more seasons depending on performance targets.
The number 9 knows the house well: after coming through Newell's Old Boys, Ponce arrived in Europe young and established his career at Martínez Valero, where he left his mark through his goalscoring ability, commitment and drive. After his spell in the MLS with Houston, he now returns with experience at the highest level.
A striker with proven quality
Ponce stands out for his movement in the box, power in finishing and ability to attack space. He adds intensity in pressing and workrate off the ball, making him a key offensive reference. The franjiverde club highlighted this in their statement: "it recovers a player who knows the Club's identity and returns to bring experience, character and goals in this new stage in LaLiga EA Sports".
With his arrival, Elche completes their forward line after the departures of Álvaro Rodríguez, André Da Silva and Rafa Mir. In the transfer market, the team has already signed Osorio and Fer Niño, rounding out their offensive options for the season.
