Ferran Torres completes PSG move from Barcelona

Ferran Torres is in Paris to undergo the medical examination that will complete his move to PSG. According to Mundo Deportivo, the agreement reached on Thursday between Barcelona and the French club amounts to around 50 million euros with no add-ons, and the Parisian outfit expects to make the signing official this weekend, once the medical tests scheduled for Saturday are completed.

Closing a Barcelona chapter

The 26-year-old forward leaves Barcelona after 207 appearances and 65 goals for the Catalan club. Under Hansi Flick, he became a key piece in the attack: over his last two seasons he scored 40 goals (19 in 2024-25 and 21 in 2025-26). His departure comes just as the club loses Robert Lewandowski, who departs after four seasons and 120 goals at Barça.

Despite his strong performances, Ferran felt that even Lewandowski's exit would not guarantee him the starring role he sought as a lead striker. Julián Álvarez's recent success also influenced his decision to seek new opportunities.

An ambitious project in Paris

PSG offers the Spaniard a five-year contract. However, attacking competition will be fierce: the French club boasts Ousmane Dembélé (current Ballon d'Or winner), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué, plus recent signings Maghnes Akliouche (Monaco) and the imminent arrival of Mika Godts (Ajax, for 55 million). A star-studded squad that, ironically, may present Ferran with a puzzle similar to the one he left behind in Barcelona.
