Flick takes World Cup players to Basel friendly

FC Barcelona are travelling to Basel to face the local side tomorrow Sunday at 4:30 pm in a new pre-season friendly. According to Mundo Deportivo, Hansi Flick's squad includes the internationals who featured in the World Cup and have rejoined training this week.

Among those called up are Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Cubarsí, Gordon and Koundé. Notable absences are Pedri and Gavi, who do not travel to Switzerland. The Spanish midfielder is working on a specific return-to-play programme following his comeback.

Squad changes

Flick has included B team goalkeeper Eder Aller to cover for the absence of Áron Yaakobishvili, whose move to Almería is nearing completion. Several young talents such as Álvaro Cortés, Xavi Espart, Jordi Pesquer, Brian Fariñas, Orian Goren, Jesse Bisiwu, Hamza Abdelkarim and Ebrima Tunkara complete the squad.

Marc Casadó, Héctor Fort, Tommy Marqués, Jofre Torrents, Guille Fernández and Toni Fernández were left out, all awaiting the resolution of their departures in the market. Injured players Frenkie de Jong and Roony Bardghji are also unavailable.
