FSG sells third of Liverpool to Bhatia-led consortium

Fenway Sports Group has agreed to sell 33% of Liverpool to a consortium headed by Amit Bhatia, valuing the club at £5.5 billion.

Liverpool has confirmed a landmark shift in its ownership structure. Fenway Sports Group has agreed to sell a third of the club to a consortium led by Amit Bhatia, a British-Indian businessman, according to Fabrizio Romano.

New shareholder takes board seat

Bhatia will become vice-chairman and join the board in exchange for this minority stake in the English champions who have won the title 20 times. American billionaire Jeff Bezos is part of the consortium but as a passive investor with no board representation for now.

The deal values Liverpool at approximately £5.5 billion, a significant milestone in the club's recent history. This ownership restructuring arrives as the Anfield side continues its Premier League campaign under the watch of a reshaped leadership.
