Gabby George completes Brighton move from Manchester United

Gabby George has officially completed her transfer to Brighton from Manchester United before the start of the Women's Super League season, as reported by BBC Sport.

The deal comes with an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the six figures. The versatile defender, who joined United in 2023, sought regular playing time with a year remaining on her contract after the club activated an extension option in January.

Brighton manager Dario Vidosic welcomed the signing: «We are delighted to welcome Gabby to the club. Her versatility in defence gives us fantastic options and her technical quality on the ball will help elevate how we want to play».

George brings over 50 appearances from her United spell, where she won the Women's FA Cup in 2024, and becomes a significant addition to Brighton's reinforced squad, which has also brought in Switzerland captain Lia Walti and Emilie Joramo this summer.
