Ghedjemis close to Monaco move from Frosinone

Algerian winger Farès Ghedjemis is set to join Monaco from Frosinone for around 10 million euros.

Farès Ghedjemis looks set to become the right-winger Filipe Luis has been chasing at Monaco. According to L'Équipe, Monaco and Frosinone have moved significantly closer to an agreement in recent hours, with a deal potentially done as soon as Tuesday.

Both clubs are converging on a fee of around 10 million euros for the Algerian international, 23, who has two caps for his country. The figure matches what Rangers and Celtic Glasgow had previously offered before being turned down by the Italian side. Besiktas had also made a move with 9 million euros plus 1 million in add-ons, but Ghedjemis has chosen the Monaco project.

The breakout star of Frosinone's return

The left-footed winger was one of the standout performers in Serie B last season, starring in Frosinone's push back to the top flight with 15 goals and 3 assists in 37 matches. After featuring for Algeria at the World Cup, the talented attacker has already agreed in principle to a five-year deal with ASM and has started training: he played 45 minutes in the Coppa Italia on Sunday against Juve Stabia, where he provided an assist.
