Gourna-Douath completes Hull City move
The French midfielder signs with the Premier League club until 2031 after spells at Saint-Étienne, Salzburg, Roma and Le Havre.
Lucas Gourna-Douath is officially a Hull City player. The French defensive midfielder has signed with the Premier League side until June 2031, according to L'Équipe. The player had already passed his medical examination days earlier, allowing the final details of the deal to be wrapped up.
From European academies to England
Gourna-Douath, who progressed through French football's lower divisions, turned professional at just 16 years old in 2020 when he penned his first contract with AS Saint-Étienne. He made 65 appearances for the Greens before joining Red Bull Salzburg in July 2022, where he established himself as one of European football's rising talents.
He then continued his continental journey: spells at AS Roma in Serie A and most recently at Le Havre, where he featured in 15 matches in the final stretch of the Ligue 1 season. Now, at 23 years old, Gourna-Douath makes his definitive leap to English football's top tier, where he will look to establish himself as a key midfielder.
