Guille Rosas named new Sporting captain

Sporting has announced its four new captains for this season. Guille Rosas is the standout name in this announcement, according to *Sport*. The Sporting academy product takes the armband following Kevin Vázquez's departure this summer and joins Rubén Yáñez, Gaspar Campos and Juan Otero in leading the team on the pitch.

Rosas is entering his seventh season in Sporting's first team and has been one of the club's key players. Last campaign was his best offensive year from the right flank, scoring two goals and providing seven assists. The Gijón native won the fans' Player of the Month award on a couple of occasions.

Under Nicolás Larcamón's system, Rosas is expected to play an even bigger attacking role. He's not the only one facing changes: Gaspar Campos will leave the left wing to occupy more central positions and behind the striker, where the manager sees him performing better. Sporting opted not to reinforce that area after Óscar Trejo declined to join the club.
