Höjbjerg holds the reins: he'll only leave on his terms

Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg is calling the shots on his future. The Marseille skipper, 31, turned down a Newcastle proposal earlier this week offering a three-year deal matching his current Velodrome salary, according to L'Équipe.

Since the window opened, the Danish international (97 caps, 11 goals) has stayed firm on his demands. Neither Al-Diriyah from Saudi Arabia nor Atalanta—where sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli was keen on him—have managed to sway him. Höjbjerg remains in complete control of where he plays next.
