Imanol Idiakez leaves Cádiz days before LaLiga starts

The Basque coach parts ways with the Andalusian club following disagreements with the board amid sporting overhaul.

Cádiz and Imanol Idiakez end their relationship in mid-August, according to Andalusian media reports, just days before LaLiga's opening. The lack of understanding between the coach and the board has been the determining factor for this split in a team undergoing a deep institutional reset after failing to secure promotion to the top flight.

The yellow club is immersed in a sporting revolution: several players have arrived, but more signings are needed, some of them coming from other clubs' discards. In fact, Cádiz has shown interest in José Ángel and Dani Barcia, both from Deportivo, whom Idiakez knows well from his time in A Coruña. According to the source, the midfielder would leave via termination while the centre-back would join on loan.

The Basque coach will likely be replaced by Albert Celades, as Cadiz-based outlets suggest. Meanwhile, José Ángel also has offers from Ceuta, while Dani Barcia has plenty of market interest in the Segunda División.
