Iranzo and Sintes remain on Real Zaragoza's defensive radar
Real Zaragoza eyes centre-back reinforcements before 1 September: Rubén Iranzo (Valencia) on loan and free agent Xavi Sintes are the main leads.
Real Zaragoza are hunting defensive reinforcements ahead of the transfer window closure on 1 September, according to Sport. Sporting director Lalo Arantegui is pursuing at least two options to bolster the back line.
The first is Rubén Iranzo, a 23-year-old centre-back from Valencia who can also operate at right-back. The Mestalla captain has made 12 appearances for Valencia's first team since his debut in 2021-22, scoring once last season. A technically sound, quick and strong defender, he will leave Valencia on loan as their centre-back position is well-stocked.
The second target is Xavi Sintes, 25, currently without a club after two years at Córdoba. Zaragoza already submitted a firm offer he rejected in search of a Segunda move, but he remains available and is recovering from a knee injury. Sintes is a physically dominant defender, strong in aerial duels, and capable of playing midfield as well.
Both signings would materialize in the final stages of the market.
