Jackson, ex-Villarreal player in the Premier, on Atletico's radar

Atletico Madrid is exploring the signing of Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea's forward who previously played for Villarreal, though his price hovers around 70 million.

Atletico Madrid continues searching for attacking reinforcements and has set its sights on Nicolas Jackson, a 25-year-old Senegalese striker from Chelsea who is familiar with La Liga after his spell at Villarreal. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Madrid club is among those interested in the English forward, alongside Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

The injury to Alexander Sørloth and uncertainty over his future have accelerated Atletico's activity in the attacking market. Jackson fits the profile sought by the colchonero side: young, with growth potential and versatile in attack.

The price obstacle

The main issue for any deal is the valuation Chelsea has set for their player: close to 70 million euros. According to British sources, none of the interested clubs seems willing to meet that figure, making the transfer complicated.

During last season, Jackson was loaned to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, where he competed across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists. The Senegalese has a contract with the Blues until 2033.
