Jairo Noriega faces rest of season out with ACL rupture

Jairo Noriega faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament rupture at Deportivo Fabril. The left-footed midfielder will require surgery followed by an extended recovery process that will likely sideline him for the remainder of the season, according to Sport.

Noriega had just returned to the Coruña club's second team after spending the previous campaign on loan at Racing de Ferrol. Manager Manuel Pablo was counting on him as a key creative force in the middle of the pitch. The injury represents a significant blow to the team's midfield planning, with Noriega under contract until 2028 with a further option.

With Noriega sidelined and Mario Nájera recently allowed to leave for Ourense, Fabril must now rely on alternatives including Koke San José, Noé Carrillo, Dani Estévez and Rubén López to fill the playmaking roles.
