Real Sociedad loans out the defender to the Dutch club, who hold a purchase option of €7 million.
Real Sociedad have officially announced the loan of Javi López to Feyenoord for the 2026-27 season, according to MARCA. The Dutch outfit holds a purchase option worth €7 million — the same amount the Basque club paid for the Tenerife-born fullback two summers ago — with a performance-based penalty clause included in the deal.
Expected exit
Javi López returned to Zubieta this summer after spending last season on loan at Oviedo, failing to convince Sergio Francisco. With Pellegrino Matarazzo now taking charge, the Canary Islander came back to preseason, but has not earned the trust of the American coach. His move to Feyenoord provides an exit for a defender who simply doesn't fit into Real Sociedad's current plans.
