Javi Morcillo joins Elche from Atlético Madrid

Elche have officially announced the signing of Javi Morcillo, a 20-year-old midfielder from Atlético Madrid. According to MARCA, the deal is worth €1.5 million for 50% of the player's rights, with a contract until 2030.

Morcillo lands at Martínez Valero following a rapid rise in recent seasons. The young pivot joined Atlético last summer after being instrumental in Sabadell's promotion to Primera RFEF, and has made steady progress in Atlético Madrid B under Fernando Torres, standing out for his intensity, ball recovery, and decision-making. He has also featured five times in La Liga, including a visit to the Elche stadium in Atlético's 2-3 away win.

At his presentation as an Atlético player, Morcillo outlined his profile: "I'm an intense pivot, with quality on the ball and willing to help the team however needed." With this acquisition, Elche bolster their midfield under Martín Anselmi's management, seeking youth and development potential for the season ahead.
