Joan Jordán closes Estrela Amadora move

Sevilla's midfielder is in Lisbon to complete his two-year deal with the Portuguese club after passing medical checks.

Joan Jordán is in the final stages of his Sevilla departure. The Catalan midfielder is in Lisbon to seal his move to Estrela Amadora, according to an exclusive report by Sebastião Sousa-Pinto. The player will sign a two-year contract once he passes the required medical tests.

With a deal running until 2027 at Nervión, Jordán held one of the last remaining high-value slots from Sevilla's Champions era. His exit is particularly significant as it will save the club considerable funds: the midfielder's annual cost, including salary and amortisation, was around seven million euros.

The move is part of sporting director José Ignacio Navarro's strategy to reduce the wage bill. Following the departures of Tanguy Nianzou and Rafa Mir, Jordán will be next. The Catalan had been sidelined from the main group since the second day of pre-season by Luis García Plaza, training separately from other players outside the coach's plans.
