Johnson and McNeil seal swap between Palace and Everton

The swap between Crystal Palace and Everton is now official. Johnson, Palace's record signing for £35m in January from Tottenham, joins the Toffees along with McNeil, the Everton winger, both securing four-year deals with the option to extend by a further 12 months, according to The Guardian. Both players will undergo medicals on Monday.

The move comes six months after the drama of February, when Palace shelved McNeil's transfer following the collapse of Mateta's £30m move to Milan. The player's partner had written on Instagram denouncing the emotional damage caused by the club's conduct.

Johnson has disappointed at south London: goalless in eighteen Premier League appearances. His departure eases Palace's wage bill, with the club also closing in on signing right-back Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise for £21m.
