Junior asks to come off with discomfort in Betis friendly

Junior Firpo requested a substitution during the friendly between Real Betis and Bournemouth played at La Cartuja, according to Mundo Deportivo. The fullback was replaced by Fran García in the 75th minute after suffering some discomfort that forced him to leave the field.

The action that preceded the change was not the most fortunate for the Dominican defender: he was caught out in a previous play that allowed Evanilson to make it 1-2 for the English side. After that incident, Junior received whistles from over 28,000 spectators present at the stadium.

This new problem comes after Junior endured a 2025/26 campaign plagued by muscle injuries. Pending confirmation from medical tests, this could be the first injury setback of the upcoming season for the Betis fullback.
