📷 MARCAKambwala heads to Osasuna on loan seeking playing time
Villarreal closes its sales chapter with the Franco-Congolese defender's loan to the Navarran club due to centre-back congestion.
Villarreal has secured a move for Willy Kambwala with a loan deal to Osasuna. According to MARCA, the young Franco-Congolese defender has accepted the move to the Navarran club after struggling to find minutes at La Cerámica this season.
Kambwala, just 21 years old, has fallen victim to the surplus of centre-backs at the Castellón side following Juan Foyth's return. With Renato Veiga, Logan Costa, and Pau Navarro in the squad, competition for a starting spot was virtually impossible. Additionally, the defender is still recovering from a serious muscular injury that required surgery and forced him to miss the entire previous campaign.
A logical exit for his development
After failing to feature in the opening matchday of La Liga, Kambwala has seen the move as the sensible choice to avoid stalling his progress. As MARCA had previously reported, Villarreal was working on finding the player a destination, a move that comes after also securing Thiago Fernández's loan to Levante. With this deal, the yellows close their sales chapter, unless a significant sale emerges in the final stretch of the transfer window.
