The striker had to leave the pitch in the 18th minute of the friendly match against Middlesbrough (3-3) played last Saturday at the Riverside Stadium. García's absence is a significant blow to Espanyol ahead of the 2026-27 season opener on August 16 against Levante, a game he will miss. Last season, the forward made 37 La Liga appearances and scored eight goals.
