Kumbulla joins Rayo on loan from Roma

Rayo Vallecano have announced the signing of Marash Kumbulla from Roma on a season-long loan. The 26-year-old Albanian defender joins the Madrid side to bolster their defence for the 2026/27 campaign, according to MARCA.

Kumbulla becomes another option for Rayo's backline alongside Florian Lejeune, Nobel Mendy and Luiz Felipe. The international has prior experience in LaLiga from loan spells at Espanyol and Mallorca, where he made just 10 official appearances last season due to limited opportunities. Now he aims to rebuild his career at Vallecas and establish himself as a key piece in the coach's plans.

This is Rayo's third signing of the summer window, following the permanent arrivals of Mendy and Vertrouwd, both of whom joined after completing loan moves in the previous campaign.
