Mount's foot injury casts shadow over United's draw with PSG

Mason Mount's injury troubles are deepening after the Manchester United midfielder limped out of the 1-1 friendly draw against PSG in Gothenburg on Saturday. The England player suffered a foot injury in the opening stages of the match, lasting fewer than 20 minutes on the pitch, according to The Guardian.

Mount, 27, has endured persistent fitness problems since joining United from Chelsea in 2023, making just 54 league appearances in three seasons. He departed after consulting with coaching staff and was replaced by Tyler Fletcher.

Bryan Mbeumo levelled for United in the 32nd minute when Amad Diallo set him up following a turnover. PSG had gone ahead in the second minute through Ibrahim Mbaye, despite missing several key players. Manager Michael Carrick praised the team's overall response, highlighting their problem-solving and preparation ahead of the season.
