LaLiga denies Rayo-Alavés postponement request

LaLiga has denied Rayo Vallecano's request to postpone their match against Alavés, according to MARCA. The fixture will be played this Thursday at 21:00 at Butarque stadium in Leganés.

Rayo had asked the competition to delay the game so it could be staged later at Vallecas, their home ground, but the Madrid regional authorities rejected the petition. The club, led by president Martín Presa, believed their stadium was ready to host La Liga matches, yet the postponement has been denied.

Fan backlash looms

Despite the match being held at Butarque, ticket queues are already forming at Vallecas box offices. However, a significant section of Rayo's fanbase has called for a boycott in protest at the venue change for their home league debut.
