Ghanaian international centre-back Nicholas Opoku joins Las Palmas on a free transfer until 2028.
UD Las Palmas have announced the signing of defender Nicholas Opoku on a two-year deal until June 2028. The centre-back, who turns 29 next Tuesday, joins the Canary Islands club on a free transfer from Kasimpasa in Turkey's top flight, as confirmed by the club.
Opoku began his professional career in Ghanaian football at Berekum Chelsea before moving to Europe. He played for Tunisian side Club Africain, where he won the Tunisian Cup in 2017-2018, and later gained experience in Italy's Serie A with Udinese and in France with Amiens SC.
According to Las Palmas, the Ghanaian international stands out "for his physical strength, toughness in duels, pace when cutting and ability to initiate play from the defensive line".
