Levante transfers Kervin Arriaga to AEK Athens

The Honduran defender ends his spell at the Spanish club following a loan stint at Real Zaragoza.

Levante and AEK Athens have completed the transfer of Honduran defender Kervin Arriaga this Monday, as confirmed by the Spanish club on its official website. The centre-back joins the Greek side after a mixed spell in Spanish football.

Arriaga had arrived at Levante a year ago from Partizan Belgrade, but spent most of last season on loan at Real Zaragoza in the Spanish second tier. The defender played a key role in helping the Aragonese side secure their safety that campaign.

Last-minute departure

The deal was sealed in the final stages of the transfer window. The player travelled to Barcelona with Levante's squad on Saturday for their match against Espanyol, appearing among the fifteen registered players. However, Levante withdrew him from the squad as negotiations with AEK progressed, with the agreement officially confirmed this Monday.

Arriaga had joined Levante for roughly half a million euros, with the Valencia club acquiring 75% of his rights, and held a contract until 2028. His move to Greek football marks the end of a brief yet significant chapter in his career, during which he experienced Spanish football at both top-flight and second-division level.
