The Argentine midfielder rejoins the club's training ground after his vacation following the World Cup, as Betis prepares for the 2026-27 season.
Giovani Lo Celso has returned this morning to Betis' Luis del Sol training ground to rejoin the squad, according to MARCA. The Argentine attended a rest day granted by Manuel Pellegrini to the team as they prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
The midfielder returns after his vacation following his participation in the recent World Cup with Argentina, where he played 60 minutes against Jordan and scored the opening goal with an exquisite free kick in his World Cup debut. Despite netting in the tournament, his limited involvement has not enhanced his market value.
Lo Celso endured a challenging season hampered by injuries, but has made clear his intention to stay at Seville. Under contract until 2028, the player has shut down any exit options this summer window and wants to play Champions League football as a Betis player. The Greens will play their final pre-season friendly against Inter Milan next Saturday before launching their league campaign against Real Sociedad on August 21st.
