Anthony Lopes missed Angers' friendly against Le Mans after injuring his right thumb, but is back in training and targeting a return this weekend.
Anthony Lopes was ruled out of Angers' friendly against Le Mans last Saturday after injuring his right thumb during the warm-up. According to L'Équipe, the goalkeeper twisted his thumb in a routine moment in training, forcing the club to withdraw him at the last minute.
The positive update came on Tuesday as Lopes returned to full training with the squad. Medical tests proved reassuring — no fracture or ligament damage detected. The goalkeeper confirmed his target is to be fit for the next friendly against Lorient on Saturday, August 8th. «I'll build up gradually this week with the aim of playing the full 90 minutes,» he said. Manager Stéphane Gilli also expressed optimism about his recovery.
