📷 Mundo DeportivoLopy completes Al-Ittihad move: Almería's record sale at €19m
Senegalese midfielder Dion Lopy (24) joins Saudi club Al-Ittihad in Almería's biggest-ever transfer for €13m fixed plus €6m in add-ons.
It's official: Dion Lopy leaves Almería to join Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad. According to Mundo Deportivo, the deal is worth €19 million in total (€13m fixed plus €6m in variables), making it the biggest sale in Almería's history.
The 24-year-old Senegalese midfielder departs the club's preseason camp in Marbella to join his new team after three seasons at Almería. He arrived in summer 2023 from Stade Reims for €6.5m and leaves for roughly triple that fee.
Lopy became a key piece of Almería's midfield during his time there, appearing in 105 matches (30 in La Liga, 63 in Segunda, 6 in Copa del Rey, and 6 in promotion playoffs). His importance to the club was underlined by a recent contract renewal through 2030, yet Almería ultimately couldn't hold onto him.
