Lunin linked with Juventus after Suzuki deal falls through

The Real Madrid goalkeeper is one of Juventus's targets to strengthen their goalkeeping position after failing to secure the Japanese keeper.

Andriy Lunin could leave Real Madrid before the transfer window closes. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Ukrainian goalkeeper's name is being linked with Juventus, who are searching for a keeper after failing to complete the signing of Zion Suzuki from Parma.

Italian media report that the Turin club is scouting the goalkeeper market, with Lunin among the main targets. Alongside the Real Madrid shot-stopper, Juventus are considering other options such as Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham) and Trubin (Benfica).

A future in the shadows

At Real Madrid, Lunin is set to be Courtois's backup once again this season and, for now, accepts that role. However, journalist Nicolò Schira claims the goalkeeper has been offered to Juventus in recent days.

The problem for the Ukrainian is that Real Madrid do not see him as a replacement for the Belgian keeper—who has a contract until 2027—and have been searching the market for a new goalkeeper. Lunin is under contract with the club until 2030, but does not feature in Real Madrid's plans as Courtois's successor.
