Mac Allister to stay at Liverpool this season

Alexis Mac Allister will continue wearing the Liverpool shirt this season. His father and agent, Carlos Mac Allister, confirmed it when asked about the 27-year-old Argentine midfielder's future: "My son will stay at Liverpool. We haven't discussed any possibility of him leaving the club this summer," he stated, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The confirmation comes after rumours pointing to potential interest from Real Madrid or Manchester City in the player. The possible departure of Rodri Hernández to Barcelona seemed to open the door to market movements, but the agent's words settled any doubts.

Statements from Dominik Szoboszlai, his Liverpool teammate, in a recent interview also fuelled speculation. The Hungarian international used the phrase "if he returns" when referring to Mac Allister, but all signs suggest the Argentine will remain at Anfield under Andoni Iraola's leadership.
