📷 MARCAMarc Santos makes history with Levante debut
The 15-year-old left-back became the youngest player ever to debut for Levante in La Liga against Espanyol on matchday one.
Marc Santos wrote golden history for Levante this Sunday. The young left-back from the club's academy made his La Liga debut on matchday one against Espanyol, becoming the youngest player in the club's history to reach the top flight at just 15 years, nine months and 15 days old.
Born in Massanassa, Santos came off the bench in the 64th minute replacing Iván Romero at the RCDE Stadium. The match ended in a 3-0 defeat for the Levante side, but the youngster's achievement will remain etched in the club's record books regardless of the result.
A milestone in historical context
In La Liga's all-time precocity rankings, Santos ranks fourth, according to MARCA. He sits behind Luka Romero (Mallorca, 2019-2020, aged 15 years and 219 days), Sansón (Celta, 1939-1940, aged 15 years and 255 days) and Pedro Irastorza (Real Sociedad, 1933, aged 15 years and 288 days). The achievement underscores Levante's commitment to developing academy talent and positions Santos in a unique place within the club's recent history.
