Mbeumo rescues Man Utd draw with PSG, but Mount injured

Manchester United earned a 1-1 draw against European champions PSG in Gothenburg, Sweden, during their pre-season preparations. Bryan Mbeumo levelled an early goal from Ibrahim Mbaye with a fine finish, but the day was overshadowed by Mason Mount's injury.

According to Sky Sports, Mount was forced off after just 20 minutes with an apparent foot problem, at a time when United trailed the Parisians, who fielded a squad missing several star players. The midfielder had shown encouraging signs of recovery during pre-season following a spell blighted by injuries.

Amad Diallo proved pivotal in shifting momentum: he won the ball high up the pitch to set up Mbeumo's leveller. The winger was too hot to handle for PSG's defence into the break and nearly added a second, though goalkeeper Matvey Safonov was in sharp form. Backup keeper Tom Heaton also suffered an injury during the match.
