Mitchell signs with Strasbourg on five-year deal

Strasbourg have secured the signing of international defender Jeyland Mitchell, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Alsatian club. According to L'Équipe, the operation is complete for €8 million from Sturm Graz.

The 21-year-old Costa Rican reinforces a defence the club is actively reshaping. Mitchell's arrival comes as part of a defensive overhaul at the Ligue 1 side: Strasbourg are also eyeing German centre-back Karim Coulibaly (Werder Bremen, 19) as a potential addition, while Ismaël Doukouré has been granted permission to leave.
