Ngoumou seals Nice transfer

The Cameroonian winger signs a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 side after leaving Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer.

Nathan Ngoumou is now officially a Nice player. The 26-year-old winger completed his move on Monday, signing a two-year contract with the Aiglons, as reported by L'Équipe. The Cameroonian arrives from Borussia Mönchengladbach at no transfer cost, though the German club retains a 10 % cut of any future sale.

The signing marks Ngoumou's return to Ligue 1 four years after leaving Toulouse to try his luck in Germany. The Cameroonian international (2 caps) played just one match in Germany—notably against Nice in August 2022 following his arrival. This summer he has been recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture suffered in April, training intensively in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat under the watch of Nicolas Dyon, recently brought back as the club's physical trainer.

First of several moves

The winger will be unveiled on Tuesday. But Ngoumou won't be the only addition: L'Équipe reports that Axel Witsel is about to follow. The 37-year-old Belgian international is a free agent and set to undergo his medical before signing a one-year deal with an option for another. If all goes to plan, his presentation could come on Wednesday.
