Nottingham Forest complete the signing of Côte d'Ivoire defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting on a four-year contract.
Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting, according to The Guardian. The 22-year-old Côte d'Ivoire international joins on a four-year deal with an additional option for a further year, with the transfer fee reported at £34.2 million.
Diomande featured in the Côte d'Ivoire's World Cup squad and made 132 appearances for Sporting since joining in January 2023. He played a key role in the Portuguese side's Champions League campaign last season, starting both legs of their quarter-final defeat to Arsenal and completing the full 90 minutes in his country's World Cup group-stage win against Curaçao.
Forest's chief football officer George Syrianos said: «He has fantastic experience for a defender of his age. Playing a crucial role in title winning teams and going into the latter stages of the Champions League puts him in a great position to integrate well here at Forest.»
