📷 Mundo DeportivoSaudi Arabia bid incoming for Agoumé
A Saudi club is preparing an offer around €30 million for Sevilla's midfielder, which could be the summer's biggest transfer for the Andalusian side.
A significant offer for Lucien Agoumé could arrive at Sevilla in the coming days. According to Cadena Ser, the Franco-Cameroonian midfielder's agent is in position to bring a proposal approaching €30 million from a Saudi Arabia club. It would be the Andalusians' biggest deal of the summer.
The investment payoff
Sevilla recruited Agoumé from Inter Milan with a profitable resale in mind. He arrived on loan first, then the club executed its option to buy 50% of his rights, and from this summer owns 90%. In total, the club has invested €8 million in the player, so this operation would represent a significant gain.
But there's a catch
The 24-year-old is wary of moving to the Saudi league. He believes he's too young to step away from European football and feels he has much more to offer at the elite level. Moreover, Agoumé is well integrated into Sevilla's life, committed to the project and happy in the city. For now, he would be reluctant to accept this proposal.
For Sevilla, a sale of this magnitude would be vital to balance the books and enter the market to reinforce themselves. In fact, the sporting department is already scouting options for midfield, with Georgian Kochorashvili as the main target. Agoumé is a regular starter under Luis García Plaza and delivered a strong performance against Rayo Vallecano in their first win of the season.
