Orel Mangala joins Getafe on loan from Lyon

Getafe have officially announced the arrival of Orel Mangala. The Belgian midfielder from Olympique de Lyon joins on loan for the season, according to MARCA. Mangala touched down in the Spanish capital hours before signing with the blue-and-whites to strengthen their midfield following the exits of Luis Milla and Mauro Arambarri.

The Belgian, who has experience at clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Everton and Stuttgart, made 12 appearances for Lyon last season, five of them as a starter. At Getafe he will reunite with Martín Satriano, his former Lyon teammate from last year.

Mangala will partner Mario Martín and Ramón Terrats in midfield. Getafe are still assessing the futures of Yvan Neyou and Javi Muñoz, who have not featured in preseason and are expected to leave the club.
