Ivorian midfielder Abdoul Ouattara leaves Strasbourg to sign with newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich, where former teammate Julio Enciso already plays.
After progressing through Strasbourg's academy, Abdoul Ouattara is heading to England to join Ipswich, fresh from their promotion to the Premier League. The switch marks the 20-year-old Ivorian midfielder's first major move after his spell in French football, according to L'Équipe.
He is not the only player departing Alsace. His former teammate Julio Enciso is already at the club, and the pair will now reunite at the Suffolk side. Ouattara has signed a five-year deal with Ipswich, managed by Gary O'Neil, Strasbourg's former coach.
An Ivory Coast U23 international known for his versatility, the midfielder was under contract with Strasbourg until June 2029 but has opted to take the plunge into English football in what represents the biggest transfer of his career so far.
