Oviedo and Granada draw in opening round

Real Oviedo and Granada CF began the season with a goalless draw (0-0) in a balanced match at the Carlos Tartiere. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Asturians were more effective in the opening period, with Chris Ramos having several clear opportunities, while the Granada side lifted their performance after the break without truly troubling Aarón Escandell.

Oviedo controlled the first half

Julián Calero fielded six new faces in the starting line-up despite having five absences. The home side started with intensity, pressing high in midfield and creating threats towards Raúl Lizoain's goal. Jacobo and Costas had chances early on, but it was striker Ramos who came closest, with at least two clear-cut opportunities where Lizoain made a fine save and Villahermosa's effort was cleared off the line by Reina.

Granada responded after the break

With no half-time changes, Pacheta made substitutions from the 57th minute, bringing on attackers Pascual and Marqués. The change balanced proceedings: the visitors gained control and pinned back Oviedo, though they created little genuine danger beyond isolated moments from Rodelas. Granada's clearest chance fell to Marqués, but Escandell was alert to deny him.
