Pedri returns to ball work as Barcelona manages his recovery

The Barcelona midfielder starts touching the ball on the pitch after two days in the gym managing his physical load during preseason.

Pedri González has taken another step forward in his adaptation to Barcelona's preseason. After joining the group last Wednesday, the 23-year-old Canary Islands midfielder is following a specific plan to manage his physical load, and on Saturday he started touching the ball on the grass at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, according to Mundo Deportivo.

For the first two days, the player trained exclusively in the gym, working separately from the main group. This is purely a matter of personal planning to ensure his adaptation after the World Cup was ideal, with no alarm regarding his physical condition.

Absence from the Basel friendly

Pedri will continue training individually in the coming sessions, so he will not travel to Basel for tomorrow's friendly match against the Swiss side (16:30 CET). The club has opted to be cautious with the Canary Islander and not force his return to competition until he is fully adapted.
