Racing demands full release clause for Salinas amid Barça interest

Racing Santander has laid out its position in the Jorge Salinas negotiations. Sporting director Chema Aragón has been uncompromising: the 19-year-old left-back will not leave unless a club pays his full €16 million release clause, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona, interested in the defender, is only offering around €6 million—a bid the Cántabrians flatly reject. Aragón stressed the club's commitment to "strengthen without weakening with stars," and expressed hope that Salinas stays put.

However, the sporting director acknowledged that "there's little you can do if a big ship arrives," suggesting the scenario would shift if a major club matches the full €16 million. He praised Salinas's attitude, noting he is "being exemplary" and is not forcing a move. Should he remain after the transfer window closes, Racing will consider improving his contract to reflect his growing importance.
