Rangers sign Nedeljkovic on loan from Aston Villa

Serbian right-back joins Ibrox on season-long loan deal with £4m obligation to buy based on appearances.

Rangers have secured right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa on a season-long loan with a £4m obligation to buy that will trigger depending on the number of games he plays.

The 20-year-old Serbian international made the move to Ibrox after talks with manager Derek McInnes and fellow countryman Vanja Dragojevic, who recently joined the Glasgow club. According to Sky Sports, Rangers fended off competition from rival clubs to land the defender.

Nedeljkovic arrived at Villa Park in January 2024 from Red Star Belgrade but managed only 10 appearances during his time at the English club. He had previously spent a season and a half on loan at RB Leipzig.

The signing marks Rangers' 11th summer addition, with the Scottish side still hunting for a winger and striker ahead of the September 3 deadline. Portland Timbers' Kevin Kelsey and Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry are among the targets Ibrox chiefs are considering.
